I had my birthday recently. I don't know what to do with myself! For someone who loves a plan, I sure am doing a hella bad job!

I haven't putting titles on things!

This is just to remind myself that I have this, and that I should try to keep it up. I'm bad at this!

Ian had a good idea for a story or a movie or a song or a painting! America's economy gets so bad that we resort to selling relics of our history: civil war stuff, founding father stuff, etc. This stuff will be sold to like Japanese and Russian businessmen with weird interests/obsessions. I think this would be very interesting because I've SEEN the Japanese and their love for all that PEI Anne of Green Gables junk firsthand!

Also last night my email password was suddenly changed without my involvement and then everything in my bank account was replaced with ******. Turns out it was just a coincidence; my bank was doing server maintenance. It was scary though and I HATED IT.

Today is Thanksgiving. A few funny things happened.

First of all, I had my wisdom teeth out on Monday which I thought would allow me a get out of photography free card. My face is swollen and bruised, and I even took my fake tooth out a couple of times (my front tooth was taken out on the 6th) to try to ward off my dad's cousin's husband, who loves taking pictures and has a camera that looks like it should be used for deep sea creature photography or something. It didn't work.

My Great Aunt also presented me with a large gift bag, telling me it was my Christmas present and she really wanted to give it to me now because I might be at Tim's house for Christmas or who knows about the weather and it was really important that I open it here, today. My Aunt gives notoriously bad gifts; glancing around my room right now I find a crystal jewelry box lined with pink velor, a couple of ceramic ballerinas and several sweaters with colors and patterns eerily similar to those I found in a wallpaper sample book at the recycling center. I started to open the bag and she told me to wait, she said that everyone should see. She left the room and I peered inside just enough to see a little green velvet hat and a few strawberry blonde curls amid the white and red tissue paper. I whispered to Parker that it was a huge doll, and he immediately began to draw attention to himself breathlessly guffawing at my misfortune and writhing on the couch.

So at dinner, between the soup and the turkey, she announced that I would be opening my present now and then my uncle Bob added "ALL EYES ON ADDIE!" and people started to clap before they realized I hadn't actually done anything yet. I pulled out the doll (a lovely little redheaded number in a kilt!) and proclaimed that I not only loved it, but that I used to have one JUST LIKE IT! OH! AND MOM! WHATEVER HAPPENED TO IT?!? I did a good job.

Also there was a bottle of wine with a picture of my cousin on it instead of a label. He is in his 40's and has Down Syndrome and I had a pretty good conversation about it with him.

"That bottle of wine has your picture on it, huh?"
"That's me."
"I know, why does it have your picture on it? Did someone make it?"
"No, that's me!"
"Well have you tried it?"
"Yes"
"Is it good?"
"Yes"
"Well I'm going to have to try some."
"What?"
"I'm going to have to try some of the wine. It's good, right?"
"Yes."
"Well I'll go get some"
"No, it's disgusting!"
