New Blog
I started a new blog, because I thought that it might be a good idea for my time in Los Angeles. I really like the name of this one, though, so I hope to keep writing in it. I guess I'll have to put all non-L.A. related things in this blog, but I don't know how much that'll be since I'll be living here. OH WELL!
It looks like "Laby Addie" but it's not.
I also prefer this layout, but I told myself that I could not have two blogs with the same look. That was stupid!
Edit: I kept the same layout, with some alterations. Exciting!!!

Pants and Plants
Well, I am on my way to L.A. tomorrow. I am very excited, but I have a lot to do today. I've decided that I am going to try to change my living habits in TWO ways while I'm in L.A... would you like to hear HOW?
#1. Forget pants! I used to wear jeans all the time, but then when I worked at the museum I realized how much more comfortable skirts and dresses are. (I wasn't allowed to wear pants at the museum!) Winter in Massachusetts, however, made me go back to wearing pants until warmer weather arrived. I have always liked the idea of trying to look nice all the time but in college when you're traipsing across mud puddles and getting splashed by bikes and trucks and everyone around you is wearing dang old pajamas to class it's hard to motivate yourself to care about your appearance. I think things have changed. I am going to bring one pair of jeans, and one pair of black pants and that is it. Hooray!
#2. "Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants." This Michael Pollan quote does a pretty good job summing up how I want to eat. By "food" he means real food like whole, fresh vegetables and such. I can also eat fish every once in a while by following this guideline instead of a strict vegetarian diet. The hardest part for me will be trying to cut back on my cheese intake because, as many immature vegetarians have done before me, cheese has become a staple food item for me. It's just not good for you, though, and I need to realize that. I am so glad that beer doesn't have high fructose corn syrup in it. YET.
That is it for now but I may add more to my list of minor life improvements. I am mostly excited about #1! My mom found out about a Talbots factory outlet store in Woburn and when they have sales it's AWESOME. Now, I know you may be thinking that Talbots is for moms and old ladies, but it's not really. They have many great items for young people. I like that they have a lot of classic clothes. Anyway I got loads of skirts and dresses for under ten bucks, and I also sewed a bunch, so I am ready to meet my first challenge.

Sam Cooke does (better than) Dylan
Now, there's never a time when I don't like Sam Cooke. There are, occasionally, times when I don't remember how much I love him. Today I found this video and I was reminded! Here is his cover of "Blowing in the Wind" and I think it's better than Bob Dylan's but I guess he did a good job too.
Dylan could never pull off those sassy dancers.
